Itinerary

Pick-up & Travel Time
Your friendly guide and driver will warmly welcome you at your hotel in Hue. Travel north toward Quang Tri, approximately 60 km and around 1–1.5 hours by road, before continuing deeper into the former Demilitarized Zone.

Highlights & Activities
Begin at Quang Tri Citadel, one of the most significant wartime sites in Central Viet Nam. Walk through the historic grounds while learning about the intense fighting that took place here and the important role of Quang Tri during the war.

Continue west along the historic Route 9 toward Khe Sanh, passing former battlefield areas and mountain landscapes along the way. Visit Khe Sanh Combat Base (Ta Con Airfield), where displays, wartime relics, and the former airfield provide insight into one of the best-known battlefields of the war. The site remains part of Quang Tri’s current historical tourism network.

Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before continuing toward the former dividing line between North and South Viet Nam.

Visit the historic Hien Luong Bridge and Ben Hai River, located at the heart of the former DMZ near the 17th parallel. Learn about the period when the river became a powerful symbol of the division of Viet Nam following the 1954 Geneva Agreements. The site has recently undergone restoration and is again receiving visitors.

Continue to Vinh Moc Tunnels, an extraordinary underground village built to protect local residents during intense bombardment. Walk through sections of the multi-level tunnel system and discover underground living spaces, meeting areas, wells, and other facilities that reveal how an entire community adapted to life beneath the ground during the war. The site currently operates for visitors from 07:00 to 18:00.

Return & Drop-off
After exploring Vinh Moc Tunnels, begin the journey back to Hue, approximately 100 km and around 2–2.5 hours by road. Enjoy a short refreshment and restroom break along the way before arriving in Hue, with drop-off at your hotel or any convenient central location of your choice.
