Ho Chi Minh Complex: Completed in 1975, the complex includes Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum, the Presidential Palace, House-on-Stilts, and the Ho Chi Minh Museum.
The Temple of Literature: Originally built as a temple to Confucius, this is the site of Vietnam’s first University dating back to 1070. Inside are the stone steles mounted on the backs of turtles, inscribed with names of Vietnam best scholars. The temple highlights the importance that Vietnamese society place then and now on education. Lunch.
Museum of Ethnology: This museum is widely acknowledged as the best in the country and has an extensive display dedicated to Vietnam’s 54 Ethnic minority peoples. As well as the comprehensive array of exhibits inside, there are also traditional tribal houses reconstructed within the ground.
Ngoc Son Temple and Hoan Kiem Lake: The Ngoc Son temple is set on a tiny island on the Hoan KiemLake, its history dating back to the 13th century. The temple is reached by crossing the The Huc Bridge which literally means the ‘Place Touched by Morning Sunbeams’. The Hoan Kiem Lake is the local point of the city and the source of many legends.
One hour Cyclo Tour through the Old Quarter: Also known as the 36 streets, this bustling area of narrow streets is home to literally thousands of small businesses and shopkeepers. Originally each of the 36 streets names’ was related to the products being sold there. It’s a great place to explore on foot with numerous photo opportunities.
In the evening, get picked up and transferred to Ha Noi Railway station for your overnight train journey from Vietnam’s capital city to the border town of Lao Cai. Overnight on train.
Arrive early in Lao cai at 06 00 am, we get picked up by shuttle bus for our drive up the spectacular Sapa pass, which is 1300 m high, 33 km long. The bus ride uphill takes a little over an hour giving you a glimpse of the stunning vistas and impressive rice terraces. Arrive Sapa in the morning; you will have an early check-in in Chau Long Sapa Hotel 4*. We have some free time to wander around, exploring this beautiful multi-ethnic town.
In the afternoon, we take a walk to Cat Cat Waterfall to visit Black H’Mong minority people. Return to Sa Pa for a shower and a rest. Overnight in Sapa.
Trekking distance: ~6 km / 3 hours
In the morning, get the show on the road in the morning from the hotel by jeep to head for the valley where to visit Black HMong village of Laochai and Dzay village of Tavan. We have a picnic lunch along the way. We walk continues for about 2 hours to visit the Red Dzao in Giang Ta Chai village, visiting a waterfall and a suspension bridge.
We get picked up by Jeep back to Sa Pa. Overnight in Sapa.
Trekking distance: ~15 km / 6 hours
After breakfast at the Hotel, the guide will take you to visit the Dragon Mountain in Sapa, where you can enjoy the beautiful view over Sapa town, to visit the “music village” with traditional ethnic music, to walk around black rock mountains and many kinds of flowers like orchids and roses. Then you will come back to the hotel to take a rest before check-out.
Later in the after noon, we take the shuttle bus ride down Sapa pass to Laocai train station. Overnight train back to Ha Noi.
Trekking distance: ~2 km / 5 hours
Arrive in early morning, transfer to the small hotel to rest until getting pick up for Ha Long. Transfer by road approximately four hours to the port of Ha Long. Hop aboard the traditional wooden junk and unwind over lunch as you glide along the jade green waters dotted with towering karsts. You’ll visit ancient limestone caves, swim in the salty waters and go exploring by kayak. Back on board, enjoy a sunset cocktail and dine on the bays fresh seafood. Overnight on board.
Wake to the sun peeking over the horizon and see the bay at first light. Watch as vendors paddle their small sampans teeming with goods to the nearby boats and villages. Visit the Surprise Cave with its impressive limestone formations created over generations. Look for the sacred turtle, the giant Buddha and the frog on the rock! Arrive back into the port around midday for a quick lunch and then return to Ha Noi at 04:30 – 05:00 pm.
