Pick-up & Travel Time
Your friendly guide and driver will warmly welcome you at your hotel in central Hue. Begin the day with a short transfer to the river pier, where you will board a traditional dragon boat for a scenic cruise along the Perfume River to Thien Mu Pagoda. The river journey generally takes around 30 minutes, offering a relaxing introduction to Hue from the water.
Highlights & Activities
Disembark at Thien Mu Pagoda, one of Hue’s most iconic spiritual landmarks. Admire the seven-story Phuoc Duyen Tower and explore the peaceful temple grounds overlooking the Perfume River before continuing by private vehicle.
Travel approximately 7–10 km southwest of central Hue to explore the Tomb of Emperor Tu Duc, a graceful royal complex surrounded by pine trees, traditional pavilions, temples, and a peaceful lake. Continue with a short stop at Thuy Xuan Incense Village, where colorful bundles of incense and traditional craftsmanship offer a glimpse into another side of Hue’s local culture.
Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant, featuring Vietnamese and local Hue dishes before visiting the impressive Tomb of Emperor Khai Dinh, located approximately 10 km from central Hue. Built dramatically into the hillside, the mausoleum stands out for its elaborate decoration and distinctive blend of Vietnamese and European architectural influences.
Return toward the city center to explore the magnificent Hue Imperial Citadel, the former political and royal center of the Nguyen Dynasty. Enter through Ngo Mon Gate and discover the historic palaces, courtyards, temples, royal structures, and the remains of the Forbidden Purple City while learning about the lives and traditions of Viet Nam’s last imperial dynasty.
