For travelers who want to escape the crowds and truly connect with the Mekong Delta, Ben Tre is the perfect choice. Unlike other popular routes, this tour takes you off the beaten path into tranquil villages where life moves at a gentle pace. Cycle along shady village roads, sip fresh coconut juice under the tropical sun, glide through quiet canals on a hand-rowed sampan, and meet friendly locals in their homes. This is the Mekong at its most authentic.
Your guide and driver will pick you up at your hotel for a 2-hour drive to Ben Tre Town, with a short refreshment stop along the way.
Upon arrival, board a motorboat to cruise the waterways and see daily life along the riverbanks. Stop at a brick kiln, where traditional beehive-shaped ovens turn out millions of bricks each year, before visiting a coconut workshop to watch how candies are made—and taste them fresh. At a local family home, see how mats are woven, enjoy seasonal fruits and tea, and chat with villagers about rural life.
Next, relax on a hand-rowed sampan along peaceful canals shaded by coconut palms, then continue your adventure with a cycle ride or motor cart through quiet village roads, passing rice fields and vegetable gardens. Along the way, you’ll experience the laid-back rhythm of the Delta.
Enjoy a tasty Vietnamese 5-course lunch at a riverside restaurant (vegetarian, Halal, or allergy-friendly options available on request). After lunch, return by car to Ho Chi Minh City, where you’ll be dropped off at your hotel. End of services.
