Overview

If you only have one day in southern Viet Nam, this tour is a perfect blend. Spend the morning exploring Ho Chi Minh’s history and landmarks, then head to the Mekong Delta in the afternoon to experience river life, coconut candy, and peaceful canals under shady palms. A wonderful taste of two worlds in one day.

Highlights

  • Orientation view of Viet Nam’s history and culture
  • Learn about the Viet Nam War at the Reunification Palace, and the War Remnants Museum.
  • Admire the French colonial architecture ofNotre Dame Cathedral and Central Post Office.
  • Cruise along the Mekong River by motorboat
  • Enjoy a hand-rowed sampan under the shade of water-coconut trees
  • Visit a traditional workshop where they produce coconut candies, rice paper, or rice wine…
  • Great value tour with hotel pick-up, entrance fees, and round-trip transport included

Our guide will pick you up from your hotel. Start the day with some of the city’s most iconic sites:

  • Reunification Palace (*): Once the presidential palace of South Việt Nam, this building became a symbol of reunification when a North Vietnamese tank crashed its gates on April 30, 1975.
  • War Remnants Museum (*): A poignant collection of photographs, exhibits, and wartime relics that reflect on the human cost of conflict.
  • Notre Dame Cathedral & Central Post Office (*): Two of the finest examples of French colonial architecture in the city, standing proudly side by side.

Lunch will be served at a local restaurant before we head south toward the Mekong Delta (1.5-hour drive, with a refreshment stop).

  • Board a motorboat and cruise along the river, passing by the four famous islands: Dragon, Unicorn, Turtle, and Phoenix.
  • Visit a traditional workshop to see how coconut candies are made—and taste them fresh!
  • Stop at a local family home, where folk musicians welcome you with live music, tea, and seasonal fruits.
  • Take a hand-rowed sampan ride along leafy canals, enjoying the peaceful atmosphere of the countryside.
  • Travel by Xe Loi (a local tuk-tuk-style vehicle) through quiet village roads.

We drive about 1.5-hour back to Ho Chi Minh City and drop-off at your hotel. End of services.

HAVE A GREAT TRIP!
