Located just some 50 km south from downtown Sài Gòn, the outlying district of Cần Giờ is an ecotourism destination for a one‐day weekend excursion out of the city and into the countryside, where mangroves, the beach, and monkeys await you. Vàm Sắt mangrove forest is a part of the ecosystem of Cần Giờ mangrove forest with an area of 1,862ha. It has an abundant and assorted system of animals and plants including typical species of a salt‐marsh zone. In the wars against French and U.S., Vàm Sắt was a famous waterway battlefield with many resounding victories. Just a few years after the war, the people have gathered here and restored the forest by growing trees to protect Cần Giờ’s natural ecological conditions.

● A short hike through the mangrove forest
● Visiting the local commando headquarters.
● Upon arrival, we board a canoe and cruise along a vast network of canals and channels to enjoy wonderful views of the Mangrove Forest.
● Arrive at the Giant Bat Lagoon and explore gently by rowboat, before trekking through the mangrove jungle.
● Visit a crocodile reserve (and feed them if you wish!) and see monkeys in their natural habitat, as well as crab fishing and bird-watching for exotic local and migratory species. You can also enjoy another mangrove jungle walk.
● Climb the Tang Bồng tower to enjoy your panoramic view of the green forest.
● Lunch will be served at a local restaurant with a Vietnamese 5-course set menu. Please request in advance if you have a food allergy or if you are a vegetarian.
We drive another 1,5 hours back to Hồ Chí Minh city. We complete the tour by dropping you back to pickup point. End of services.
