With its lush orchards, peaceful waterways, and warm hospitality, Cai Be is a perfect place to experience the authentic spirit of the Mekong Delta. Here, time seems to slow down as you row through shaded canals, cycle along quiet village paths, taste tropical fruits, and join a local family for a hands-on cooking experience. This is real Delta life at its most welcoming.
Your guide and driver will pick you up at your hotel for a 2.5-hour drive to Cai Be, with a short refreshment stop along the way.
On arrival, aboard a boat to cruise the river and stop at cottage industries, where you’ll see how coconut candy, rice paper, and pop-rice are made—and taste them fresh. Cross to Tan Phong Island to visit a local family, where you’ll be welcomed with tea, seasonal fruit, and traditional folk music. Then, enjoy a hand-rowed sampan ride through breezy, palm-shaded canals before joining your hosts for a cooking demonstration. Try your hand at preparing a traditional Vietnamese dish and then sit down to a fresh, home-cooked lunch.
After lunch, you may choose to relax at the family home or join a short cycling trip around the village, passing orchards, gardens, and canals.
Finally, say goodbye to your hosts and return to Ho Chi Minh City in the late afternoon. End of services.
