According to the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City, many activities are taking place in the city to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 – April 30, 2025).

On the evenings of April 19, 26, 29, and 30, a series of cultural and sports activities titled “Colors of Uncle Ho’s City” will take place in front of the HCMC People’s Committee. A 3D Mapping art show combining light projections and live music will be featured on April 19.

The Nguyen Hue – Le Loi pedestrian area will host traditional music, opera, lion dances, and folk performances. Nearby, contemporary arts, puppetry, circus, and street acts will be showcased in front of SunWah building and other key points.

Nguyen Hue – Ngo Duc Ke area will welcome interprovincial art exchanges with local business participation, while Bach Dang Wharf Park on the Saigon River will feature flower lantern parades, folk music, and water sports like sailing and Flyboard surfing.

Artistic fireworks displays will light up the nights of April 19 and 26 at Saigon Riverside Park, accompanied by drone shows featuring 1,000–2,000 drones on April 19, 26, and 29.

Special shows include “The Country is Full of Joy” on April 20 at the Reunification Hall, and “Peace Symphony” on April 21 at the City Theater. Another grand show celebrating the 50th anniversary will be held at the Reunification Hall on April 29.

April 26 will see literary awards and a film-themed exhibition titled “Echoes of the Great Victory of Spring 1975 in Cinema” opening on Nguyen Hue walking street.

April 30 brings a special brass band and horseback parade on Le Loi and Nguyen Hue streets by the Ministry of Public Security, followed by the grand finale show “National Reunification Day” on Nguyen Hue Walking Street.

The city also plans a drone show with 10,500 devices, 3D Mapping displays, floral model parades, intellectual property dialogues in music, and discussions to foster creative industries in arts and music.

Additional celebrations include honoring 50 exemplary enterprises, individuals, construction projects, cultural events, and awarding the 4th Ho Chi Minh City Creativity Award. The Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day 2025 will also be part of the celebrations, alongside a major art exhibition linking Bach Dang victory and the 1975 reunification.

Parade Details

On April 18 and April 22, full rehearsal sessions for the parade will take place on Le Duan Street from 9:00 PM to midnight. A preliminary review will be held on April 25 from 8:00 PM to 11:00 PM, followed by a final rehearsal on April 27 from 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

The official parade and marching ceremony will commence at 6:30 AM on April 30, featuring approximately 13,000 participants from 48 parade blocks. The parade will begin at the intersection of Nguyen Binh Khiem and proceed along Le Duan Street, passing by the main grandstand in front of the Reunification Hall before dispersing into four directions toward designated gathering points.
